Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026. This page is maintained by Wealthwise Kenya to explain how we handle information about you when you use our app.
1. Who we are
Wealthwise Kenya ("we", "us", "our") is a financial education and personal-finance assistant for users in Kenya. We operate the Wealthwise Kenya app, including the AI mentor, goal tracker, portfolio tools, expert bookings, and gamification features.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and (where you choose to sign in with Google) the basic profile data provided by Google.
- Financial profile. Information you choose to share with us, such as income range, savings status, risk appetite, goals, transactions you log, and portfolio holdings you add.
- Chat content. The messages you send to the AI mentor and the responses generated for you.
- Usage data. Streaks, XP, badges, weekly challenges, leaderboard activity, and basic device/log information needed to keep the service running.
- Billing data. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Paystack) handles your card or M-Pesa details. We store only the customer and subscription identifiers required to manage your plan.
3. How we use your information
- To operate and personalise the app for you.
- To generate AI responses, financial summaries, and reports based on the data you share with us.
- To run gamification features (streaks, leaderboards, badges). Leaderboards only show an anonymised version of your first name (for example, "A***n") to other users.
- To process subscriptions and manage your account.
- To respond to your support requests and improve the app.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, including our authentication and database provider, our AI provider for generating responses, and Paystack for payments. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
5. Storage and security
Your data is stored in our managed database and protected by row-level security so that only you can read or modify your own records. Access to administrative tooling is restricted to authorised team members. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Your choices
- You can view and update your profile from the app.
- You can delete your account, which removes your profile and the data associated with it. Contact us if you need assistance with deletion.
- You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from the Billing page; access continues until the end of the current period.
7. Children
Wealthwise Kenya is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect.
